On Monday 27 Feb, the Friends cast member was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and her Friends co-stars, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow, reunited to witness Courteney on this career milestone. The heartfelt speech Jennifer and Lisa delivered gave a 90’s nostalgic feeling.
“We’re very honored to be here today to speak on your behalf as your co-workers, your friends, your family, your sisters,” began Jennifer, before Lisa noted how Courteney has “been that way since we met almost 30 years ago.”
“Anyway, to be friends with Courteney is to be family with Courteney, and she is responsible for all of that. From the beginning of when we met her, she was immediately inclusive, warm, loving and interested in everything about you.”
Jennifer made a hilarious comment about how Courteney was “the only famous one” in the cast when they started on Friends in 1994. She then praised the Scream actress for her humility and how she “instilled into all of us to support each other, to love one another.”
“Those wise words have stayed with me,” Jennifer continued. “That really sent me on my path as a young woman to be able to have creative relationships that I’ve cherished to this very day.”
Lisa added: “Courteney was the most loving and supportive cast in, I’ll say, the history of television.”
Along with the fellow actresses, Cox’s daughter Coco Arquette, 18, was there to celebrate her mom’s achievements.
“Courteney, we just want to say that we’re deeply, deeply proud to know you,” Lisa said during the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. “You are the definition of a truly beautiful, talented—and what’s most important—a truly good and decent human being.”
Cox’s Walk of Fame ceremony came after she spilled details on a wild night she had with Prince Harry. In Harry’s memoir “Spare,” the Duke of Sussex recalled a night at Cox’s home where he found a ‘box of black diamond mushroom chocolates’ in her refrigerator…
He went on to detail his experience when the mushrooms kicked in, sharing:
“Beside the toilet was a round silver bin, the kind with a foot pedal to open the lid. I stared at the bin. It stared back. What — staring? I stepped on the pedal. A huge open grin,” he wrote.
“Now the loo became a head too. The bowl was gaping at me, the hinges of the seat were its piercing silver eyes. It said: Aaah.”
Cox told Variety that Harry “did stay here for a couple of days — probably two or three.”
“He’s a really nice person,” she added, noting to the outlet that she saw him again at a birthday party, but opted not to say hi because he was conversing with others.
Cox said: “I haven’t read the book. I do want to hear it, because I’ve heard it’s really entertaining. But yes, it’s gotten back to me about it. I’m not saying there were mushrooms! I definitely wasn’t passing them out.”
When the actress was asked by Fox News Digital what the secret was to the Friends co-stars’ decades-long friendship, she had a few wise words to share:
“Honesty, support, time, and love,” she said.
