Charlie Brown’s been given a makeover with this latest Charles M. Shulz offering that commemorates 50 years since A Charlie Brown Christmas. Share childhood memories of the clumsy hero with your kids or grandchildren when you see this modern 3D animation. You can’t help but love Charlie Brown as he does anything to get close to his crush while Snoopy attempts to write a novel.

Lady in the Van
This feel-good film is based on a true story by Alan Bennett, who temporarily allowed a woman living in her bright yellow van to park in his driveway. Fifteen years later, she’s still there and the two form an unlikely friendship. Maggie Smith and Alex Jennings give sterling performances in a film that will pique your curiosity of the stories behind some of the faces you see every day.

The Little Prince
Loosely based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, this animated film is ideal to watch while you’re on holiday. Your optimism will be at an all-time high, and you certainly won’t want to go back to the office any time soon! A little girl gets to know her neighbour, an ex-aviator, who tells her the story of a little Prince who lives in a world of possibilities, where growing up isn’t compulsory. With the voices of Rachel McAdams and Jeff Bridges.

A charming local rom-com directed by Darrell Roodt about a doctor, Louis van Est (Bouwer Bosch), who spends most evenings at home chatting online to one specific woman, Ella. Meeting face to face would be the likely next move, but for Ella, who’s had her heart broken one too many times, it’s easier said than done.

Carol
Cate Blanchett brings her passion and raw talent to this film about a love that transcends the boundaries of gender. She stars alongside Rooney Mara, who plays Therese, a young shop assistant who meets Carol when she visits the store to buy a gift for her daughter. The vulnerable Carol is in the middle of a divorce, and the relationship between the two serves as a pillar of support for her – until things become complicated and they have to pass a test of dedication.
