Dining at YU
If you’re a foodie and enjoy Asian-inspired meals, a visit to YU Restaurant at The Onyx is a must.
The name itself tells you what to expect once you sit down to eat. “YU” stems from the Japanese language and refers to excellence and leisure. One look at the restaurant and its menu, and you know you’re in for an excellent, leisurely treat.
The restaurant has also been nominated in the World Luxury Restaurant Awards for 2020.
The food
Some of YU’s highlights (and our own favourites) include the beef short rib bao buns, sweet and salty edamame, chicken wings marinated in Siracha, honey and soya, prawn and butternut dim sum and the most delicious avo, lime, coconut and coriander crispy rice.
If you can’t imagine ending a meal without dessert, try the chocolate fondant with green tea chocolate, crumble and pistachio ice cream…

Décor & ambience
Beautiful Japanese-style décor gives YU a luxurious feel. The darker décor is charming, making you feel instantly relaxed. On a busy night (which seems to happen a lot since YU is becoming more and more popular), the atmosphere is lively with groups of people wining and dining whilst enjoying the buzz of the city.
The X factor
Their excellent signature sushi, that crispy rice and an impressive wine list might just be the reason you would want to go back the following night.
