The smash-hit HBO TV series Game of Thrones has had viewers glued to their screens since 2011. Now, with the final season set to air, everyone is buzzing, desperate to see how our favourite characters are getting on in Westeros and, ultimately, who it’ll be on the Iron Throne. Here’s everything we know so far…
Who’s in it?
Most of the usual suspects survived the last season – except Littlefinger (who we never really liked) and the dragon, Viserion (who was reincarnated by The Night King, but we’re thinking maybe death would have been better). Fierce Cersei is still desperately trying to maintain control in King’s Landing, and Daenerys and Jon Snow are now officially a team – we can’t wait to see what that duo is capable of. The Stark children are together and characters like Tyrion, Jaime and Brienne will definitely be part of the action. Then, there’s the dreaded Night King and his army of un-dead soldiers. Yikes.

Where does the action take place?
As far as we can tell from the trailer, some of the scenes will be set in the Starks’ hometown of Winterfell. Action is likely to play out in King’s Landing as well, but the plot for this season has been kept tightly under wraps so really, your guess is as good as ours.

How can you watch a re-cap?
If you want to re-watch all seven previous seasons, you can stream them on Showmax. It’s hundreds of hours worth of TV, so maybe just stick to a re-cap of season 7 and Google whatever you can’t remember as the new season unfolds. Just a suggestion…
Most importantly, how can you view it?
The six episodes will air ‘live’ at 3am on Mondays (from 15 April) on M-Net, DStv channel 101, and they’ll be repeated that night at 10pm on the same channel. Fans without DStv can watch the action unfold on Showmax, as the streaming service will release episodes at the same time as M-Net each week. There’s really no excuse.
Finally, the memes have already started, so it’s not all super-serious. Enjoy…
