Fans have been given a first look at Rami Malek in the lead role of the planned Freddie Mercury movie, Bohemian Rhapsody.
Rami, best known for his role in Mr Robot, will play the revered Queen frontman in the movie, which will be released in 2018.
I just had my make up, hair and costume tests as #FreddieMercury and it was overwhelmingly cool and truly unforgettable. Pics coming soon.

The pic of Rami was featured in an Entertainment Weekly article, where the actor also revealed that his own voice would be used alongside recordings of Freddie’s vocals.
The late singer was known for having an impressive 5 octave vocal range which means that playing him will be no mean feat.
Have you heard about the new Dan Brown book?
Many people felt that Rami looked chillingly like Freddie. However, not everyone was happy, especially those who felt that Sacha Baron Cohen would have been better in the role.
According to an article on theguardian.com Sacha walked away from the role over disputes about the script.
He felt that the planned biopic glossed over certain aspects of the singer’s life, with a lot of Freddie’s wilder exploits being left out.
In an interview with Howard Stern, Sacha revealed that the second half of the movie focuses on how the band carried on after Freddie’s death.
The rest of the cast has been picked, however no photos are available yet. Joseph Mazzello (Jurassic Park) will play John Deacon, Ben Hardy (X-Men) will play Roger Taylor and Gwilym Lee (British TV and stage actor) will play Brian May.
