Actor Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the popular sitcom Friends, has sadly passed away at the age of 54.
According to a statement released by People, Perry lost his life to an apparent drowning in his Los Angeles home on Saturday. Perry was found dead in jacuzzi, and no drugs were found on the scene.
According to TMZ, no foul play was involved and first responders were called to Perry’s home for an apparent cardiac arrest.
The LA Times published an article stating that the Los Angeles Police Department’s robbery-homicide detectives would be investigating the death, and the cause of death would be determined at a later date by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Perry, who played Chandler Bing in Friends, released his memoir, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing in November 2022, detailing his rise to fame on the popular sitcom, his battle with addiction to opioid painkillers, an intense medical journey after rupturing his colon due to this addiction, and his journey towards sobriety.
