Game of Thrones and The Hunger Games star Natalie Dormer has been working on M-Net’s latest crime thriller, White Lies, in Cape Town. The star has also managed to savour a few moments on safari – an essential activity for anyone visiting Mzansi.
Dormer, who plays an investigative journalist in M-net’s latest crime thriller, White Lies, has been soaking up her time in South Africa while juggling a busy shooting schedule alongside her South African co-star, Brendan Daniels.
“There were so many good killer scenes just because of the dramatic nature of the show, and it was a great ensemble cast. I have great affection for my scenes with Brendan Daniels. He’s a fantastic actor…” Dormer told The Citizen.
In her time shooting in the country, Dormer has enjoyed soaking up the best of South Africa’s natural beauty.
With much of the shooting taking place in Cape Town, Dormer said that she relished the city’s vibrant scene, and spectacular nature.
“We shot in some really beautiful places. So, during the course of shooting the show, for three months, I was just exposed to all the colour and texture of Cape Town.” she told The Citizen.
“Cape Town is such a spectacular city. We were in the inner city and the beauty and texture, but also the grit and the dirt of some of the areas of Cape Town, the full diverse mix of everything, the mountains and the sea, was just spectacular.”
In her spare time, the star also managed to squeeze in a wildlife safari in the Klein Karoo at Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. She said:
“I didn’t get a lot of time for obvious reasons but I managed to go on a Safari. I went to the Little Karoo and also visited Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. I had an amazing time there. It was a very intense shoot as people would understand.”
