Patrick Dempsey, famously known as ‘McDreamy’ from Grey’s Anatomy, has nabbed the title of People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2023. At 57, he’s taking the crown with grace and lots of laughs…

In chatting with People about the title they have awarded him with, Dempsey says:
“It’s nice to have the recognition, and certainly my ego takes a little bump, but it gives me the platform to use it for something positive.”

From causing hearts to flutter since his breakout role in ‘Can’t Buy Me Love‘ back in 1987, to charming the socks off Grey’s Anatomy fans, Dempsey’s journey has been one of steady admiration. Plus, he’s not just a pretty face – he’s using this title for a good cause, notably the Dempsey Center supporting cancer patients and their loved ones.
When People Dempsey with his title, his reaction was classic.
“I was completely shocked, and then I started laughing, like, this is a joke, right? I’ve always been the bridesmaid!” What makes Dempsey even sexier is that he’s always humble, even with the most flattering titles…
As for what his kids think, Dempsey reckons they’ll have a field day teasing him.
“They’re just going to make fun of me and pick on me and figure out every reason why I shouldn’t be,” he laughs. “Which is good, they keep me young.”

Besides owning the screen and taking the crown as The Sexiest Man Alive, Dempsey’s a devoted family man, a thrill-seeking race-car aficionado, and he’s gearing up to flaunt his skills in the upcoming film, Ferrari.
“I’ve got the bumper stickers, T-shirts, posters,” he jokes about his new title. “Does this mean I’ve peaked? I peaked many years ago. But I’m still here.”
Ferrari hits cinemas on Christmas Day, adding to Dempsey’s remarkable legacy both on and off-screen.
