Springbok champ fly-half Handre Pollard and his wife Marise are taking time out in Dubai before they welcome their baby in the first half of 2024.
As far as quality time together goes, the Pollards enjoy traveling. Often, the pair take to Instagram to share snippets from their holidays around the globe – including the Maldives, Italy, France and Switzerland.
Recently, the couple jetted off from their home in England to a desert resort in the UAE, for some R&R together before welcoming their first child – a baby boy.
The destination, named Bab Al Shams, is referred to as a five-star resort on booking.com, resembling a “fortified rural Arab village amidst the Dubai desert landscape.”
The Pollards have been soaking up their time in the sun, taking desert walks, riding camels, enjoying incredible views, lazing on sun-loungers, and savouring five-star meals together under the stars.
Both Handre and Marise have taken to Instagram, sharing snaps from their Dubai adventure so far:

Although the couple do enjoy a vacay in far flung destinations, home is ultimately where the heart is.
Marise often takes to Instagram to share snaps from the couple’s safaris in the bush – most recently, in Madikwe. In her post, which includes snaps of the couple observing a lion on safari, Marise writes:
“At our happiest right here…”
