The opening ceremony is scheduled to begin at 19:30 South African time, with the official opening of the Summer Games taking place at precisely 20:24 – a nod to the year 2024.

The national broadcaster’s streaming service, SABC+, will be showcasing the event on its dedicated Sports channel.
Coverage is set to begin at 19:00 as part of the build-up. Hypertext notes, “If you are not an SABC+ subscriber, it’s not a problem, as sign up to the service is free, as long as you’re over the age of 18 or have a parent/guardian on hand to assist with sign up.”
