Place your bets! The prestigious equestrian L’Ormarins’ King’s Plate returned to the newly renovated Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Racecourse in style. Being the oldest continuous horse race, it’s the first of the iconic house racing season with a blend of social, sporting and fashion excitement.
The atmosphere was electric!
In true L’Ormarins’ King’s Plate fashion, white and blue with a glamorous equestrian flair is always the dress code and this year the esteemed guests did not disappoint!
This year, Cartier, the renowned luxury brand, returned as a sponsor of the Best Dressed competition. Overseeing three categories: Best Dressed Lady, Best Dressed Man and Best Hat.
Best Dressed Lady
The event’s best-dressed lady went to Patricia Dolz (@divadolz). Her blue and white ensemble caught the judge’s attention and effortlessly embodied the essence of the event with a sprinkle of drama created by the feathers on her dress.
A win well deserved!
Throughout the day, Sindiso Khumalo and Thebe Magugu weaved through the crowd, scouting attendees to be shortlisted for the competition.
Patricia won the stellar prize of a trip for two to London to attend the Qatar Glorious Goodwood Racing Festival from 30 July – 3 August 2024. The prize includes two premium economy flights, airport transfers, accommodation for five nights in London, tickets to attend the L’Ormarins Luncheon at the Qatar Glorious Goodwood Racing Festival and return transfers to the event, as well as a Cartier Shoulder Bag, Cheetahs In Love Scarf from Merchants On Long, a headpiece from Okapi and a Fieldbar Drinks Box complete with a bottle of L’Ormarins Brut.

It’s all about the hats
It’s not an equestrian race without a hat or headpiece, and this year was no different. Attendees brought out their Sunday best for Kings Plate.
