Janet Jackson has withdrawn from her scheduled performance at the DStv Delicious Festival in Johannesburg following the death of her brother, Tito Jackson.
The festival organisers announced this on September 17, 2024, expressing their condolences to the Jackson family.
Janet’s management stated:”Janet’s brother Tito passed away this past Sunday. For obvious reasons, Janet has to cancel her performance at the DStv Delicious Festival to be with family.”
They also conveyed Janet’s gratitude for the support from her South African fans during this difficult time.
The festival, set to take place at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, is now working to secure an international replacement for the Saturday, September 21 lineup.
Ticket holders have been offered the option to exchange their Saturday tickets for Sunday tickets, when Jill Scott is scheduled to perform.
Festival organisers have promised further announcements as they confirm details, and have thanked attendees for their understanding during this unexpected change.
Janet’s management has indicated plans for her to return to South Africa next year.
