Dame Judi Dench, 85, a legendary actress and all-round icon, has taken to social media during the UK’s Covid-19 lockdown. However, TikTok is probably the last place on the Internet you’d expect to find this gran. But thanks to her grandson, the Oscar-winning actress has made an appearance on the video-making app that’s taking social media by storm.

Sam Williams, 22, who is Judi’s daughter’s son, sent commenters wild when his famous granny made a feature in one of his online creations. In the funny video, Judi can be seen on a FaceTime call with Sam. The pair then both perform a synchronised dance routine to a remix of the 1977 song Baby Come Back by Player.

Needless to say, the Internet was excited. “NOOOO WAAAYYY JUDI,” one fan commented on the video. “She looks like an awesome nana,” wrote another. While a third chipped in, “Love this. What an amazing legend.”
Dame Judi Dench admitted that she was “frightfully nervous” to do the video at first. Who’d have thought this cinematic legend would get stage-fright for a dance video? Thankfully she overcame these nerves because the final product is so wholesome and worth it.

Sam’s doppelgänger?
Meanwhile, other viewers were distracted by Sam’s resemblance to another celeb. Heaps of comments were plainly pointing out red-haired Sam’s likeness to British singing sensation Ed Sheeran. One wrote, ‘You sure someone hasn’t just cloned Ed Sheeran at the age of 20?’. A second wondered, ‘Is her grandson Ed Sheeran?’. Admittedly, the likeness is uncanny.

In fact, Judi Dench has spoken out about Sam’s famous doppelgänger before. Back in 2017, the Skyfall star opened up about how he’d even been mistaken for Ed by a fan while out in London. Upon hearing about the mix up, Ed dropped Sam a text to say, ‘I hear I look a lot like you’. How adorable is that?

Sam has since posted other videos with his gran. Here, he tries to tell corny jokes but Judi stays one step ahead of him by correctly guessing the punchlines.
