The first season of The Sex and the City (SATC) spin-off show aired in 2021, picking up on the journey of New York’s most universally loved girl gang– Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte – now in their 50s.
The first season of the show proved to be everything SATC die-hard fans wanted and more (including major fashion inspo and plot twists), with just one critical component element…where’s Samantha?

Kim Cattrall did not make the cut to reprise her role as Samantha Jones in the first season of AJLT due to a reported feud between Cattrall and Parker. However, it was recently revealed that Cattrall agreed to do a cameo in the second season of AJLT, which airs on M-Net on 17 July and on Showmax later this year.
However, before the second season of the spin-off show could even make it to air, Kim Cattrall’s highly anticipated cameo was leaked. In an interview with The Times, Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) shares:
“We were very disappointed that the secret leaked of Kim’s upcoming appearance. We so hoped it was something people wouldn’t know about until they saw the episode and that it would be a fun surprise as they were watching,”
“I worry that with all the build-up people are going to wonder what all the fuss was about. It’s important to know that it is a very brief, very small cameo.”

Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie) weighed in on the news on Sirius XM’s Radio Andy with Andy Cohen, expressing her disappointment about Cattrall’s cameo leak, adding that she “couldn’t have been more upset,”
“It’s a big bummer because it would have been so like, fireworks in the middle. Also, because we want to make sure that expectations are real.”
“It’s a little exchange that is happy and it says everything about their relationship…It comes at a significant moment in the series.”
Cattrall’s quick cameo in the second season of And Just Like That hasn’t made its way onto our feed just yet, and we hope to keep it that way. We all deserve to live through a ‘Samantha Jones in her 50s’ moment without interruption, thanks.
