Late last week, Kourtney was spotted by paparazzi arriving at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center. During this time, the Kardashian’s husband, Travis Barker – drummer of pop-punk group Blink-182 – left the band’s tour ahead of its European concert dates to deal with an “urgent family matter”.
No updates were provided on the matter until Kourtney took to Instagram on Tuesday, sharing that she had undergone urgent fetal surgery, but assured fans that she and the baby are both safe. She writes:
“I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life. I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this.”

Kourtney, who shares three kids with ex-husband Scott Disick, goes on to explain that her previous pregnancies had gone smoothly and she had never experienced any serious complications, adding that she was not prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent surgery.
“As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.”
The happy, safe and healthy mama-to-be concludes:
“Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing.”
