On Friday 20 September, the streets of Oudtshoorn will come alive as the town welcomes home its crowned jewel, Miss South Africa Mia le Roux.

The reigning pageant queen is set to make the return to her Oudtshoorn roots after she made history as the first differently abled winner of the Miss South Africa contest.

le Roux’s homecoming will feature a packed itinerary of celebrations.
The parade will begin on Friday, September 20, at 11:00 AM, as the beauty queen makes her grand arrival through Oudtshoorn’s streets. The parade will continue on Saturday 21 September.
“I’m so excited to celebrate this incredible win with Oudtshoorn, as this victory is just as much theirs as it is mine,” Le Roux said, as per Smile FM. “I hope this will inspire my hometown to always continue in the spirit of giving and taking care of one another.”
The two-day parade route will weave through the town of Oudtshoorn, offering residents a chance to line the streets and give a warm welcome to their hometown hero.
Executive Mayor Councillor of Oudtshoorn, Johan Allers, says:
“[Mia’s] presence will be a powerful testament to our community’s pride and a source of inspiration for our local youth.”
“I am immensely proud of Mia’s achievement – she has truly empowered and inspired the differently-abled community all over the world.”

Starting on Langenhoven Road, the procession will wind its way through various streets, including Voortrekker Road, Springbok Weg, and Baron van Reede, before concluding at the historic Queen’s Hotel on Friday afternoon, where le Roux will engage with high school representatives from the area during a tea, followed by a visit to the CP Nel Museum.
The day will culminate in a special dinner at the world-famous Cango Caves, featuring performances by the Infantry School choir and Le Roux’s alma mater, Oudtshoorn High School’s Ad Astra choir.

Saturday’s schedule includes a meeting with the Nomads Golf Institution at Eljada Nasorgsentrum, where a donation will be made to Le Roux’s Miss South Africa advocacy campaign.
A second town drive is also planned, ending at the De Jager Sports Complex for a public photo opportunity.
Later on, the beauty queen will visit an Oudtshoorn ostrich farm.
As the town prepares to roll out the red carpet for le Roux, residents and visitors are encouraged to join in the celebrations and show their support for Miss South Africa 2024 on her return back home.
