The nation’s newly-crowned Miss South Africa, Mia le Roux, has been hard at work in the first weeks of her reign. Her duties have included a slew of media interviews and appearances and most recently, her anticipated first official shoot as Miss South Africa.
The moment arrived on Tuesday, when le Roux, along with the Miss South Africa pageant, shared on social media that the queen and her ‘glam’ team had arrived at De Harte wedding venue in Pretoria for a dazzling shoot.

Miss SA Mia le Roux’s most ‘irrational fear’
Whilst getting ready for her first shoot as Miss South Africa, the beauty queen took the opportunity to share more about herself with fans and followers of the pageant.
In an Instagram reel uploaded by the official Miss South Africa organisation, we get to know le Roux better by learning her most irrational fear:
“An irrational fear that I have, is the irrational fear of heights because my balance is not the best, but I try to make it work,” she says.

Studies have shown that balance deficits in deaf individuals have been well-documented. Le Roux, who was diagnosed with “profound hearing loss” when she was a year old, is the first deaf individual to be crowned in the Miss South Africa pageant.
