Kenyan media personality, model and comedienne Elsa Majimbo recently opened up about her falling out with British supermodel, Naomi Campbell.
In a viral social media video – which the Kenyan personality has since deleted from her accounts – Majimbo shared her history with the British model and icon, Naomi Campbell, adding claim that Campbell had bullied her, and had driven her to become “a full blown alcoholic and depressed.”
The pair, who first followed one another on social media in 2020, met in Nairobi a few months later, where Campbell was on vacation at her then-partner Flavio Briatore’s exclusive resort, as per reports by Zikoko.
According to Majimbo, the pair met up after Majimbo noticed that Campbell was in the country, and messaged the icon on Instagram, wanting to meet up.
According to The South African, Majimbo and Campbell proceeded to meet up in Nairobi, where they went on a shopping trip together. After the excursion, Campbell invited Majimbo to vacation with her.
Majimbo went on to feature in Naomi’s vlog, Being Naomi, where the pair did everything from shopping to trying on makeup and decorating a Christmas tree together. In the vlog, Campbell also interviews Elsa about her rising fame on TikTok.

However, the pair’s relationship went pear-shaped when Majimbo eventually did end up shooting a short documentary about her life, battling discrimination and living as a woman of colour.
This is the point where the relationship between Majimbo and Campbell went pear-shaped, as Naomi took offense to the fact that Majimbo had created a documentary without informing her. As per Majimbo’s video explaining the situation, Naomi called Elsa to express her disappointment with being left in the dark about the documentary.
Despite Campbell and Majimbo cutting communication, Elsa realised the severity of the matter months later, after attending an event where she bumped into then editor of British Vogue, Edward Enninful.
As per Majimbo, her conversation with Enninful made her realise that her fallout with Naomi may be the reason for struggling against rejection in the fashion industry.
Later, the influencer took to X (Twitter), explaining that she had felt a weight lifted off her shoulders after making the situation public.
“Talking about the Naomi Campbell situation was very hard and scary for me. But I don’t want to be owned by someone else and I want to acknowledge a lot of big hits and blows in my career came from another black woman and not my own incompetence”, Elsa shared in a now-deleted tweet.
In responding to a commenter on X, Majimbo also added that her fallout with Campbell had driven her to depression and drinking, later clarifying that Naomi did not physically force her into drinking, but that the situation in fact had.
“From 19 years old too. She made me an alcoholic and full blown depressed. It’s now time to heal and be happy”, Elsa shared.
Majimbo has since deleted the video detailing the situation between herself and Campbell from social media, along with posts on X.
I stand by my words. Content in my decision. The tweets are deleted due to seeking peace, not fear. Yall need to understand this is something that has happened since I was 19. My goal now is happiness
