Elysa Ferguson spent two weeks missioning in the new Mitsubishi Triton Xtreme. Here’s what she had to say.
“The Mitsubishi Triton Xtreme 4WD double cab is a vehicle that very quickly proved it can handle the daily chaos of family life, while also providing some fun and adventure.

For the sake of simplicity, I’ve decided to break down this double-cab into a list of things I enjoyed, and hopefully that will provide some clarity for any of you considering buying.
Here’s what I like:
Space, Space, and More Space: With two kids and two dogs, space is a must, and the Triton Xtreme provided it in abundance. The double cab offered ample room for everyone, and the rear seat passengers had plenty of legroom. Plus, the cargo bed was perfect for carrying everything from dog crates to my son’s basketball gear and both kids school bags.
The 4WD Adventure Factor: The off-roading capabilities gave me confidence and comfort. Mud, gravel, or sand? No problem. The technology is pretty straightforward, and when taking the kids away for the weekend, it was comforting to know that the car could get through just about anything.
Safety First: Safety is always top-of-mind for me when I’m driving. The Triton Xtreme comes kitted with seven airbags, a rearview camera, and electronic stability control, which gave me peace of mind when driving my precious cargo around.
Fuel Efficiency: Despite its size and off-road prowess, the Triton Xtreme is not absurd when it comes to fuel economy. I was pleasantly surprised by how infrequently I had to fill up the tank during my two-week adventure.
Final Thoughts:
The Mitsubishi Triton Xtreme 4WD double cab proved to be a capable and spacious family vehicle with a penchant for off-road fun. If you’re a parent looking for a vehicle with a bit of presence, that can handle school drop-offs and weekend getaways with equal ease, the Triton Xtreme is worth considering. Just remember to practice your parking skills because the Triton certainly was not made to squeeze into parking bays!”
