Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck has a tough job on his hands when compiling a menu for The Governor’s Ball, the official Oscars after party.
His guests have spent a good few hours looking glamorous and accepting or commiserating over losing awards, which is hungry work.
At a recent press event, journalists were given a taste of the hors d’oeuvres that will be served at the event.
The food is all served as small dishes, and first up is a sushi bar, mini burgers and salmon Oscars – Wolfgang told reporters that these dishes are tradition.

Thereafter, the glam guests will enjoy dishes like black truffle chicken pot pie and some of Puck’s new dishes, including Moroccan spiced Wagyu short rib topped with a parmesan funnel cake; taro root tacos with shrimp, mango, avocado and chipotle aioli; gnocchetti with braised mushrooms and cashew cream; lobster corn dogs; and baked macaroni and cheese.
Watch Wolfgang cook some of his Oscars veggie dishes with Ellen. Things get a bit too hot for Ellen to handle…
As for dessert, everyone’s a winner as they get to take home Wolfgang’s sought-after 24-karat-gold chocolate Oscars.
There’ll also be a selection of macaroons and other delicious treats on offer for guests to nibble on.
The 89th Annual Academy Awards will air on M-Net channel Monday, 27 February 03:30 am and a repeat again at 7:30 pm.
