Pippa Middleton has finally confirmed that she is expecting a baby for the very first time, discussing the first few months of her pregnancy in a new column.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s sister has faced huge speculation that she is expecting her first child with husband James Matthews over the last few weeks. And now, she’s spoken about the exciting news for the first time in her Waitrose Weekend magazine column.

The 34-year-old revealed that she was “lucky” enough to escape morning sickness during her first few weeks – unlike sister Catherine, who has famously suffered debilitating bouts of hypermesis gravidarum, during all three of her pregnancies.
Pippa wrote, “I was lucky to pass the 12-week scan without suffering from morning sickness. This being my first pregnancy, I had so many questions I felt were still unanswered.”
The fitness fanatic also spoke extensively about her intense workout regime, and how it has changed since discovering that she is pregnant.
She said, “I wanted to know things like — would I strain if I served in tennis? Are all strokes of swimming safe? Can I still do a normal yoga class if I avoided certain positions? Could I still work my abs?”
Pippa also revealed that she and hubby James intentionally kept the news quiet for the first few months – as is normal for many expectant mothers and fathers.
She said, “It’s particularly hard in the early months when you don’t really want to share the news with everyone, not even your class instructor.”
The Duchess’s sister, who is regularly pictured heading to the gym, went on to share that she’s been able to maintain her fitness regime – only adapting her usual steps by cutting out running.
“I’ve noticed my body change and weight increase — but through effective exercise and sports I feel that it’s being strengthened to support a healthy pregnancy, birth and recovery.
“I stopped running — not because I read it was unsafe, just because I rather liked the idea of giving my body (and growing baby) a rest from pavement pounding.”

She also said she is “conscious of holding my tummy in (as if giving your baby a hug) to support my back and ensure that post-baby, my old favourite jeans will still fit . . . Eventually.”
It’s thought that Pippa’s first child is due in October – just eight months after sister Catherine welcomed her third child with Prince William. We’re sure George, Louis and Charlotte will be delighted to have a cousin for the first time!
