HBO series Big Little Lies is finally hitting our screens! Here are 3 reasons why we can’t wait to watch it.
1. The star-studded cast
In addition to Oscar winners Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, the cast includes Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, Zoë Kravitz, Alexander Skarsgård, Adam Scott, James Tupper and Jeffrey Nordling.
2. We’ve missed Desperate Housewives
We need our fix of dark comedy, and this show promises to fill that gap. According to M-Net, the show is “a darkly comedic drama exploring a tale of murder and mischief-while unravelling society’s myth of perfection”. Yes please!
3. One of our favourite producers is involved
The show is produced by David E. Kelly, the man behind hit shows like Ally McBeal, Picket Fences, Chicago Hope and Boston Legal. He also worked on LA Law many years ago.

Here’s the synopsis for Big Little Lies:
Told through the eyes of three mothers, nothing is quite as it seems in the peaceful seaside town of Monterey, California.
Beautiful homes, doting moms, successful husbands and adorable children are all the picture-perfect factors for an ideal life.
But when a single event threatens this delicate, masterpiece façade and secrets and betrayals are ousted, everyone quickly becomes divided, causing conflicts between the haves and the have-nots, compromises between husbands and wives, parents and children, and friends and neighbours.
- Big Little Lies is a 7 part miniseries that starts on M-Net (channel 101) on M-Net on February 22.
