A peaceful yoga session at the Seascape cafe inside the North Sea observatory in Lincolnshire in the UK took an unexpected twist when a concerned passerby called the cops, mistakenly thinking they stumbled upon a “mass killing.”
According to reports by The Guardian, the mix-up occurred on Wednesday evening when the cops responded to a concerned caller’s report. Upon their arrival at the Seascape Cafe, authorities cautiously entered the premises only to discover a room full of yogis, mid-meditation.
The Seascape cafe took to Facebook after the palaver, writing:
“If any one heard the mass of police sirens in Chapel St Leonard’s at 9:30pm last night then please be reassured….”
“They were on their way to the Observatory after someone had reported a mass killing in our building. Having seen several people laying on the floor….”
“Which actually turned out to be the Yoga Class in meditation 👀🥺😵💫🧘♂️”
The Cafe goes on to thank the speedy response of Lincolnshire Police, and assures the general public that no cults or crazy clubs are involved with their regular evening yoga classes.
“Dear General Public, please be mindful that the Observatory has lots of Yoga classes happening in the evenings. We are not part of any mad cult or crazy clubs.”

The yoga class hosts, Unity Yoga, later took to Instagram, sharing the following:
“It’s safe to say that last night’s meditation was incredibly relaxing. 💤
For those of you who haven’t heard, last night’s relaxation evening consisting of yoga and meditation caught the eyes of the police. Whilst the class was drifting into a deep state of relaxation, some local dog walkers mistook the scene for a ritual mass murder.”
“Although it’s easy to see the funny side, my heart goes out to those people who thought the worst…”
Despite the unplanned twist in that night’s yoga sesh, everything turned out fine, and no harm was done.
Seascape Cafe at The North Sea observatory, with its contemporary triangular windows overlooking the sea, is indeed a spot for activities like yoga, and not the host of any cult gatherings.
Namaste. Remember, not everything is as it seems…
