A remarkable young athlete, Sara Adams, has been selected to represent South Africa at the upcoming 2023 IFSC Youth World Championship (YWC) in Seoul, South Korea.
At only 15 years old, Sara has already made a name for herself in the world of rock climbing, and this is a fantastic opportunity for her to compete on an international stage.
Sara’s journey in climbing began five years ago, and her dedication and passion for the sport have propelled her to great heights. She has consistently displayed outstanding performance and has become the number one under-15 speed climber in South Africa.
Sara has triumphed in every competition she has participated in, securing gold medals at inter-club events, provincials and nationals.
The Youth World Championship is a significant milestone for Sara, as she will be representing South Africa in all three disciplines: lead climbing, bouldering and speed climbing.
To make Sara’s dream a reality, a BackaBuddy fundraiser has been launched to gather support from the community. The goal is to raise funds that will cover essential expenses such as flights, accommodation, meals, contributions to team management costs, visa fees and travel insurance.
Your contribution to this fundraiser will play a crucial role in helping Sara reach her full potential and represent her country with pride.
The South African National Climbing Federation (SANCF) unfortunately does not have the financial resources to fully support its athletes, making external sponsorship crucial for athletes like Sara to compete on an international level.
By supporting Sara’s journey, you are not only contributing to her immediate success but also nurturing the growth of a talented young athlete who has the potential to become a role model for aspiring climbers in South Africa.
As of now, the BackaBuddy fundraiser has already raised almost R26 000 out of the total goal of R63 000. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings Sara one step closer to achieving her dreams. Your support can make a significant difference in her journey to the 2023 IFSC Youth World Championship.
