Johann Botha has been remembered as “a champion for the environment” by his colleagues on TV show 50/50.
Tributes have poured in for the media personality, who was killed during at robbery in Jeppestown last night.
In addition to his show on RSG, Johann was a producer on Carte Blanche and a presenter on SABC’s 50/50.
The 50/50 team posted the following touching message on their Facebook page:
“We’ve just received the tragic news that 50|50’s longest standing presenter and series executive producer #JohannBotha was shot and killed during an armed robbery in Mobeneng last night.
“Johann’s exuberant energy on camera and investigative journalistic insight made him a champion for the environment and his love for wildlife has seen him lauded with numerous environmental awards.
“The environment, the animals, and his close friends and family have lost a truly courageous human being, who made a tremendous difference to the world, that will be felt still for many years to come.
“Our sincere condolences to his family, friends and heart sore fans.”
