South African actress Simoné Pretorius and her husband, Andries, welcomed their second child on Tuesday evening.
The couple – who had their first child (a daughter) in May 2021 – are now “one Pretorius richer” after welcoming their healthy baby boy on Tuesday evening, 23 January.
On Wednesday, Pretorius took to Instagram to announce the news – the star has been keeping her followers abreast with her second pregnancy journey.

Her post reads:
“James Andries Pretorius 👋🏼 Born 23 Jan at 21:40. 40w4, weighing in at 4kg.”
Pretorius goes on to describe her water-birthing journey briefly:
“A total of 4 hours in labour, 7 mins of pushing. A supernatural, redemptive, unmedicated water birth with no tearing. I promise to share the story soon, it just honestly still needs to sink in😭.”
Pretorius will likely have her hands preoccupied for the first few weeks, as with most newborn baby parents. The caption ends:
“Hopping off again until end of Jan, but just wanted to say that our Jamie IS HERE and he is perfect! Thanks for everyone who checked in during the past few weeks/days while I was losing my mind.”
