South Africa’s Director Of Rugby, Rassie Erasmus, is making a recovery after undergoing treatment for chemical burns caused by a ‘freak accident’ that occurred while using a powerful cleaning detergent.
The 51-year-old was rushed to hospital after being injured in an accident involving cleaning detergent in January.
In hospital, Erasmus was treated for chemical burn wounds and is now making his recovery before making his return to work as South Africa’s Director Of Rugby.
A statement released by SA Rugby noted that despite the injuries, Erasmus is in good health and is expected to return back to work soon:
“He is otherwise in good health and expects to return to full-time working within weeks,”
On Sunday, Rassie took to X (formerly known as Twitter), sharing images of his burn wounds.
