Some still may not know that South African Youtube star Suzelle DIY is not a real person, just a well thought out and brilliantly-played character.
Now, Julia Anastasopoulos who plays Suzelle will be bringing us a new uniquely South African character in Tali’s Wedding Diary.
The show will follow Tali, a young woman who has just moved to Cape Town from Joburg, and has hired a filming crew to capture the build up to her big day. Tali loves to pout in pictures and share her thoughts on social media.
Julia shared with Channel 24 that her Suzelle DIY character is not happy with Tali stepping onto the scene:
“Actually we all talk about Suzelle in the third person like she really exists. She is real for us and I think for a lot of people too. In fact Suzelle is not very happy about this, by the way.”
The local streaming service Showmax has been searching for original content, and found its answer with Julia (along with her co-creator and husband Ari Kruger) as Tali’s Wedding Diary will be the first.
Another new local show to look out for is My Kitchen Rules SA:
Showmax made the announcement last month to release the 8-part mockumentary show in December.
