Bridget de Kock, once a standout finalist on the 2020 season of The Bachelor SA, didn’t walk away with the final rose from Marc Buckner, but she found something even better: true love with former Lions rugby player Kobus de Kock. Now, the married couple are expecting their first child together.
The couple tied the knot in August 2022, and now they’re preparing to welcome their first child—a baby boy—into the world.

Bridget de Kock, previously Bridget Marshall, couldn’t be happier with how life has unfolded.
“Life couldn’t be better,’ she tells YOU Magazine, adding: “I’m married to the man of my dreams, and our little boy is on the way. I feel like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.”
The couple is currently enjoying a babymoon in Mauritius, a destination Bridget adores, as they soak up their final months as a duo before their little one arrives in June.

For Bridget, who owns a travel agency called TravelB, pregnancy has been a joyful ride so far, reports YOU.
“Overall, I feel really good. I’m very happy and have only experienced mild fatigue and headaches occasionally, along with an increased appetite. It’s all part of the journey, and I’m enjoying the body’s changes and the excitement that comes with it.”
Though her time on The Bachelor SA didn’t end in a proposal, Bridget credits the experience with setting her on the path to meet Kobus.
Kobus, a retired rugby star, is just as excited for fatherhood.
“Kobus is going to be an incredible father. He’s thrilled about all the joys and special moments fatherhood will bring,” adds Bridget. “We’re both ready for this wonderful new adventure.”
