Ethereal, enigmatic, and a busy mom of four, Liv Tyler is enjoying every moment. She’s probably best known for her role as Arwen in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and recently for playing Meg Abbott in The Leftovers. But when she’s not lighting up the screen, Liv and her sports-agent fiancé David Gardner live a happy, family-filled life in London. The couple has two children Sailor, four, and Lula, three and Liv’s son Milo, 14, from an earlier relationship, lives with them. As does David’s son Gray, 11, from his previous marriage.

So, it’s safe to say it’s a full house and Liv has her hands full trying to keep everything running smoothly. Here’s what she said about the lifestyle trend that’s helping her stay on track…
On the trick to keeping up
According to Liv, it’s all about decluttering and tidying up. “I’m obsessed with organising at the moment,” she says. “It must be from having all the kids at home. I’ve got the Marie Kondo book and some by Martha Stewart – every book you can imagine, really.” It seems Marie Kondo’s decluttering trend is still popular, and though she launched her book in 2014, thanks to Netflix, there’s no sign of this lifestyle movement slowing down.
Fortunately, like the rest of us, Liv Tyler also admits to being human. Her downfall? Packing. “I admire a light packer,” she says. “It shows such confidence and organisation, but I just can’t master it. I find the biggest suitcase and throw everything in. I don’t even fold anymore.” Even at her A-list level, Liv is relatable and real. We love it!

Here’s more about this star’s everyday life…
On family life
Liv and her husband recently relocated to London with their two young children, and their kids from previous relationships also live with them. Liv says she couldn’t be more thrilled with the way things have turned out.
“I’m celebrating my family coming together,” she says. “We’ve gone on this adventure of blending families and moving to London. It’s a lot of action.” Liv grew up between homes, often staying with her grandparents or aunts and uncles, because her single mom Bebe couldn’t always manage. Though it was a happy childhood, Liv wanted something different for her own family. “As a parent, my fantasy is to cook every meal, read every story, do everything, and also work all day. I can be overly hard on myself, but raising a happy, stable family was always my greatest dream.” According to Liv, this is the life she always wanted. “We’ve got our hands full, and it’s a very blessed life.”

On her famous father
Liv only met her father Steven Tyler when she was nine years old. She attended an Aerosmith concert and went back stage to meet the front man after the show – there was an instant connection. “There was this chemistry and sparkle between us – I felt a strong connection. At first, I didn’t realise who he was, but I figured it out pretty quickly.”
Steven soon became an integral part of her life and was there when she gave birth to her son, Sailor. Now, everyone is one big happy family. “My children are fascinated by their rock-star grandfather,” she says. “Whenever they get to see Steven, they absolutely love it.” What is it about the long-locked rocker that the children are drawn to? Liv says it’s all about storytelling. “He takes you on adventures and tells you things no one else ever would. And he comes up with brilliant adages like, ‘There is no way out, but through.’ I love finding those little gems in our conversations.”
