It’s a big month for Sex and the City fans in SA!
First, Sarah Jessica Parker graces our July cover as we wait in anticipation for the second season of And Just Like That to air on M-Net later this month…
Now, The author of the original Sex and the City books, Candace Bushnell, has announced that she’ll be coming to SA to perform her one-woman show, True Tales of Sex, Success, and Sex and the City in Johannesburg and Cape Town from 22 September to 1 October.
An Instagram post from Candace reads:
“South Africa! I am bringing my one-woman show True Tales of Sex, Success, and Sex and the City to Johannesburg and Cape Town this September. Join me for an evening of laughter and dishy tales from my life in New York City…”
Bushnell wrote the original column for The New York Observer which was eventually adapted into her bestselling Sex and the City anthology, which then became the basis for the HBO hit series and films starring Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw.
Candace’s original newspaper column and subsequent books inspired a shift in pop culture, where male-dominated entertainment took a backseat as the world watched Carrie come to life in the famous HBO series, so perfectly fitted to the star-studded cast of Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon.
Are you really a die-hard Sex and the City fan if you don’t go and see the original Carrie perform live? Get your tickets here!
