Springbok champ Handre Pollard and his wife Marise are due to welcome their baby boy in April.
It seems like only yesterday when the Springboks claimed the Rugby World Cup. The stream of baby announcements that followed from the Etzebeths, the Pollards and finally, the De Klerks were met with celebration from South Africa’s proudest Springbok supporters.
Now, both the Etzebeths and De Klerks have welcomed their newborns, with the Pollards expecting to meet their bundle of joy this month, in April. On Tuesday, Marise Pollard took to Instagram to share a recent baby bump snap, with the caption:
“Hello April. I can’t believe we’re meeting our boy this month. Beyond grateful, beyond excited.”
The couple have kept fans and followers abreast with their pregnancy journey online, with Marise frequently adding to her Instagram highlights with baby updates.
In March, Handre posted a sweet message for the mom-to-be on her birthday, writing:
“Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife and mom-to-be. You are the most amazing person on earth and I feel so fortunate to spend every day with you and to see you grow into the person you are today. You are going to be the best mom ever to our little boy. Can’t wait to take on this new chapter of our lives…”
In return, Handre, who turned 30 last month, received a heartfelt message on his birthday, too. In an Instagram post, Marise wrote:
“I physically cannot wait to see you in this next phase as a father, our boy has the best person to look up to 🤍 I love you more than words can ever describe and thank you for choosing me x”

The couple are set to welcome their baby boy in the UK, where they now call home.
