The Banana Split: such a classic that we simply had to put it on the menu at all four cafés ???♀️
Nestled in the leafy suburb of Newlands, Cape Town, you’ll find one outlet of the ever-popular The Creamery. It offers classic and enticing flavours like Peanut Butter, Sea Salt Caramel and Chocolate all year round, but the flavour of the month will have your returning regularly. Pete’s Super Natural Ice Cream – Johannesburg
Although not strictly a bricks-and-mortar ice cream joint, Pete’s Super Natural Ice Cream is so good that it certainly deserves a spot on our list. Started by Peta Frysh, this artisanal ice cream uses only hormone-free milk from pasture fed cows, so all the flavours are real and authentic. Choose from exotic tastes such as rose and pomegranate Turkish delight, peanut brittle or torched marshmallows and honeycomb. Find it in pints of ecstasy at the Organic Emporium in Bryanston Shopping Centre, at the Voodoo Lily Café in Birdhaven and at Jackson’s Real Food Market.
