On Sunday, Trevor Noah took home the Best TV Host award at MTV’s Movie and TV Awards, beating out Ellen Degeneres, John Oliver, RuPaul and Samantha Bee.
After accepting his golden popcorn trophy from Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart, Trevor took the time to thank his mother, Patricia Noah.
“She is a powerful‚ strong black woman who didn’t listen when they told her she couldn’t be more.”

Trevor also took the time to acknowledge the comedy gold that Donald Trump has given The Daily Show, which he hosts.
“Thank you to Donald J. Trump for the comedy. The J stands for Jesus‚ a lot of people don’t know that,” he joked.
