Springbok champ Cheslin Kolbe made a brief stop in South Africa to see his family after four months of being apart.
Kolbe, who plays for Tokyo Sungoliath in Japan, had not seen his family in four months before his brief return to Cape Town on Monday.
In a heartwarming reel shared to Instagram, the rugby player shows his warm welcome home by his family.
His wife, Layla, and their three children, Kylah, 6, Mila Sky, 3, and Cayden, 1, were all their to welcome Cheslin at Cape Town International Airport.
In the video, Kolbe’s daughters run to greet their dad, while Cayden, the youngest in the brood, initially struggles to recognise his dad.

Kolbe captioned his post:
“4 Months later. Scary to see how much has changed. My son almost didn’t know it was me 😂. Best feeling being united with my crew again. Love you❤️🙏🏻”
Commenters lauded Kolbe for taking the time to stop for pictures with fans in his brief stint back home.
“This man travelled so many hours, and just saw his family & still took a picture with a fan 🥺❤🇿🇦”
Sadly, the Kolbe family reunion was a brief one, as Cheslin hopped on a flight out of South Africa the following morning.
Layla took to social media commenting on the bittersweet reunion with her hubby:
“This morning I had to tell my kids ‘it was all a dream,’ @cheslinkolbe came home last night and had the first flight out this morning again! For a split second everything just fell so normal again. 🥹.”
