Taylor Swift is seemingly in her Lover-era once again! Swift and her alleged new boo, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, have become an overnight power couple.
While the pair haven’t made the relationship official, this budding romance has made quite a splash. But what exactly is the wrap with these two?

For those wondering how exactly a Football star and Queen Taylor became involved, the tale is reminiscent of Mastermind.
In early July 2023, Kelce attended Swift’s concert in Kansas City, with the hopes of meeting the Anti-hero singer. Like many of her fans, he made her a friendship bracelet with his number on it. Unfortunately, didn’t chat with her fans before or after the show, including Kelce, as she needed to save her voice.
Kelce shared his disappointment during an episode of his New Heights podcast.
In subsequent interviews, Kelce skirted around the edges of rumours, touching briefly on his foiled plans to get Swift’s attention. But, that didn’t stop football commentators from making the most of these rumours, using some of Swift’s best song titles, like Blank Space and Style, when talking about Kelce on the field.
Of course, it wasn’t until late September that Kelce commented on how much traction this little tale has gotten. During this interview on the Pat McAfee Show, Kelce treated listeners with a tidbit of info that sent Swifties into a spin. He said:
“I told her, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead, you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead.’ We’ll see what happens in the near future.”

Rocking Arrowhead Stadium
It seemed that the “near future” was just days away as Swift spent the 24th of September at Arrowhead Stadium cheering on Kelce and the Chiefs.
Swift sat alongside Kelce’s mom and the rest of his family and friends, enjoying herself thoroughly. After the game, the pair were seen leaving the stadium together and getting into Kelce’s convertible… talk about a getaway car.

Mega marketing
Considering the traction of Kelce’s “failed” plan to get to know Swift, it’s no surprise that her showing up at his game made a massive splash. Almost immediately, the NFL’s marketing team updated their X (formally Twitter) bio to read NFL (Taylor’s Version).
NBC also capitalised on the situation, using Swift’s song Welcome to New York in a commercial promoting the Chief v New York Jets game.

As Swifties are the biggest girls-girls, it’s no surprise that this budding relationship has become a marketing gold mine. According to Vox, Kelce’s Instagram following has spiked, along with his jersey sales. Game viewership increased on Sunday night – 1 October – as heaps of fans tuned in.

The coverage across news broadcasting and social media has been immense and it doesn’t look like it’s going to quiet down any time soon.
A blossoming romance for Taylor Swift
Exclusive sources have shared with People magazine that the pair are “just getting to know each other.” However, these sources have confirmed that the pair speak “almost every day.”
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been spotted together on a few occasions, and the singer has attended other games. Most recently, her posse and a few other big names accompanied Swift at the Chiefs vs. Jets game in New York. Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Sophie Turner, and even Hugh Jackman were spotted cheering on the team with Swift.
