The latest singing celebrity to be unmasked on the hit television show, The Masked Singer South Africa, was none other than Miss Universe 2019, Zozibini ‘Zozi’ Tunzi. All four detectives – J’Something, Somizi Mhlongo, Sithelo Shozi and Skhumba Hlophe – successfully guessed the identity of the mysterious Robot.
Sharing the reveal on their Twitter page, The Masked Singer South Africa captioned its post, “We were not mentally prepared for Robot’s load to be shed so soon but it was beyond exciting to finally see who was underneath the mask – @zozitunzi.”

Speaking to Sowetan Live on Monday morning, Zozi stated, “Being on the show made me realise that I am truly capable of becoming a singer because as much as I love music, I always had a fear of how I would translate on stage or how I’d be received by people.”
She added that she said “yes” without any hesitation when she was called and asked to participate in the show. “I didn’t even need to think a lot about it… I knew I wanted to take part.”
The pagent queen continues, “I love to sing and music is one of the things that bring me the most joy in the world. I also thought that it would be a fun way to introduce myself to South Africans as someone who truly does sing.”
