Emily in Paris has some fun – but sometimes questionable – ensembles. But this season had some incredible outfits that, if done right, can work for almost everyone. Even if you just take some bits of inspo and make it your own, you could make a fashion statement just like Emily.
Here’s how you can put your own spin on the best Emily in Paris season 4 looks.
1. Monochrome magic
Emily and Mindy proved that sometimes, more is more when it comes to colour. Think head-to-toe cobalt blue or canary yellow – it’s like wearing a mood boost! We loved this look this season, but some find the bright monochrome a touch too much.
Luckily, you can dial it back but with an all-black look. Or, you could opt for mixing things up a bit by pairing whites and neutrals together. You can always add that pop of Mindy colour by wearing bright accessories.
2. Print clash
Mixing prints is no longer a fashion faux pas, and Emily’s taking it to the next level. That patterned cape with a matching dress? Chef’s kiss!
While it can look like too much is going on at once, there are ways to make sure you nail this look. For example, stick to simple accessories and keep them to a minimum. You’ll also want to avoid clashing colours when you’ve got clashing prints, instead, stick to the same colour family.
Balance is also key – if your top’s busy, keep the bottom simple (and vice versa)
3. Snuggle up in sherpa
Yes, summer is around the corner, but we’ve still got one last cold snap coming up, so don’t pack away your winter wear just yet. When we think of the cold weather now, all we want is Emily’s oversized sherpa coat. It’s giving us all the cosy vibes.
This look is super easy to recreate; just pair your oversized coat with a pair of fitted jeans or leggings. Or if you want this look for summer, swap the sherpa coat for an oversized knitted vest – you’ll still have that Emily chic.
Oh, and don’t forget to add a pop of colour with a scarf, bag, shoes, or a pair of bright earrings.
4. Check yourself (before you wreck yourself)
Emily’s checkerboard print look is giving us major ’60s vibes, and we’re here for it. While it could be too much patterned black and white, you can still achieve the style with a touch of subtlety.
Pair a checkered blouse with a neutral pant or a pair of jeans. Or take it one step back and opt for a checkered accessory like a scarf. Unlike Emily – and perhaps more like Sylvie – less is more in this case.
