One thing we’re big on is body inclusivity. We love that women are breaking free from narrow beauty standards. Of course, there are still problematic tropes magnetising the masses, like the aspirational size 0 ‘heroin chic’ trend which has resurfaced, and the age-old stigma that fat rolls and folds should be hidden away.
The world is a different place now than it was just 10 years ago, though.
Society is more body and size inclusive now than it has ever been. In the realms of style, wellness, beauty and fashion, we’re embracing that life comes in all different kinds of shapes and sizes.
In fashion, we’re seeing size inclusivity sweep designer and fast fashion brands across the globe. In beauty, standards have broadened and the representation of plus size women in the industry is abundant, no longer are they few and far in between.
One such designer embracing the natural curves and folds of the female body is Karoline Vitto from Brazil.

In an article published about Karoline on Elle, Karoline is quoted as saying:
“It’s about celebrating areas that we were told to hide. And it is about framing, in the same way that you put a necklace on because you want to frame your face, or your wrist because you want to show your hands.”

How empowering it is then, to embrace the vulnerability you have towards your body and discover a raw, unique beauty that no trend can dictate or pin down. One that is uniquely your own.
Here’s your cue. You don’t have to rock a designer look to embrace your body. For so long, we were told to cover up our curves and folds, and we’ve become really good at dressing to do so. There’s nothing wrong with the wardrobe you find comfortable.
We do however, challenge you to shop for one item that highlights or accentuates a curve that you usually try to cover up. We need to teach ourselves and reinforce the fact that embracing our bodies, is okay. A great way to start is by shopping for a new wardrobe item. Why not?
