This year’s New York Fashion Week served us all the looks, breathtaking silhouettes, and even a few extreme ‘avant-garde’ fashion moments – but that’s why we love the runway! From dopamine-inducing pops of colour to some of the most extreme tailoring we’ve seen, let’s look at some of the trends we spotted on this year’s runway, and how we can convert them into your every-day wardrobe look:
It’s all in the tailoring
Designer Raul Lopez brought these stunning tailored garments to the runway. Inspired by the masculine suit silhouette, but reinterpreted with a tinge of feminity. With such firm details and lined-up finishes, Rual’s runway looks conjured confident and powerful.

The 90s ain’t going nowhere
90’s fashion always creeps its way back onto the runway. In the last year, we’ve seen in beauty and make up trends, hair trends and now it’s made a full revival in fashion. Vibrant colours, tiny handbags and short silhouettes will make you feel like you’re back in the ’90s ready for disco nights. Designer Sergio Hudson rocked the runway this his ’90s inspired collection.

Oversized hats
Designer Colin LoCascio really put the fun back in fashion with these playful oversized hats. Also seen across other collections, the oversized hat is here to stay. Whether or not you’re brave enough to go this big, adding simple a hat to your look is fun!

Ruffles, Ruffles, Ruffles
Ruffles remind me so much of royalty, a queen’s era. Not only is it regal, but ruffles are so feminine! Designer Christian Juulnielsen created an over the top glam collection that reminded us that ruffles are definitely still on trend.

OTT Glam
Who doesn’t love an extra glamorous look? Tia Adeola gives us everything in a (mostly) all black runway collection that would compliment any body type! From short skirts to high slits, these silhouettes are extremely sexy.
