While your skincare and makeup routine may change as you age, here are 6 skincare and make-up tips that are not only make-up artist approved, but will make your beauty routine a lot easier.
Makeup artist Claudette Lingenfelder from Beauty Beyond reveals all.
Always remove your make-up before bed
No matter how tired you are, always wash your face before bed. Makeup left overnight can block and clog your pores and in some cases, cause breakouts.
Exfoliate twice a week
Not only will exfoliation help remove dead skin cells and stimulate new cell growth, it also makes your moisturiser more effective. If you are not exfoliating, and then moisturising, you are only feeding the dead skin cells, which does nothing for your skin.
Lip liner will make your lipstick last longer
Lip liner will not only create a fuller look, but makes your lipstick last much longer. Never line your lips with a colour darker than your lipstick as this will have the opposite effect.
You won’t believe how affordable Natalie Portman’s favourite is:
Don’t forget about your neck
Foundation needs to blend in with the rest of your skin tone and stopping at the jaw line will leave a contrasting line.
Never test foundation on your hand
The skin tone on your hand is very different from your face and neck. Instead of testing foundation on your hand, apply the foundation to your jawline. This will ensure you find the right foundation to suit your skin.
Invest in a makeup setting spray
A makeup setting spray helps to set the makeup and ensure it looks fresh all day!
