Checkers supermarkets and selected OK Foods stores are recalling their 300g and 125g Deli hummus products with sell-by dates between September 10 and October 8, 2024.
The recall affects standard hummus, reduced fat, Zataar, Red Pepper, and Caramelised Onion flavours.
Routine quality testing revealed microbiological contamination in three batches of Deli branded hummus. Production at the supplier has been halted.
Customers are advised not to consume these products and can return them to Checkers or OK Foods for a full refund, with or without proof of purchase. Opened products may also be returned.
Shoprite Holdings reports their food scientists are working with the supplier and National Consumer Commission on the voluntary recall.
