Keeping that summer bod can be tough with the excessive heat. Not only can it be difficult to maintain your habits, but you could suffer from heat-related illnesses, like heat stroke. Luckily, there are several ways to exercise safely in summer!
Let’s take a look.
Stay hydrated!
As you can suspect, water is your best friend during the heat. But you need to remember that just water won’t keep you hydrated. You need to drink plenty of electrolytes – which you can find in Energade and Powerade. Electrolytes help rehydrate your body and replenish your body.
Be aware of the time.
Avoid working out during the hottest times of the day – between 10 am and 2 pm – especially if you’re exercising outside. You may want to work out first thing in the morning to avoid heatstroke.
Alternatively, if you can, go to the gym or exercise inside.
Wear the right clothing.
When exercising during summer, you should avoid wearing thick, dark clothes. Instead, choose moisture-wicking fabrics that allow your body to cool down through evaporation. You should also opt to wear hats, sunscreen, and sunglasses to protect you from the sun and heat.
Pace yourself.
You should always pace yourself and listen to your body when you’re on your fitness journey. But this is a golden rule during the hottest time of year! Avoid hectic and intensive workouts and take plenty of breaks when exercising in summer.

Get used to the heat.
Allow your body time to adapt to exercising in warmer temperatures by starting with shorter sessions and gradually increasing duration and intensity.
Try exercising with a buddy.
Having someone with you can be helpful in monitoring each other for signs of heat-related issues.
Always prioritize your safety when exercising in hot weather. If you have any health concerns or conditions, it’s a good idea to consult a healthcare professional before starting a new exercise routine, especially in extreme temperatures.
