Choosing your walking route
The best part about walking is that you can do it anywhere! Make your walks inspiring, and change them up so you get used to different terrains if you’re training for a walkathon. If you’re close enough, a beach walk along the sand is really good for strengthening the legs.
Otherwise, take a trip to your local park or botanical gardens for beautifully calming scenery. Look for spots with a few inclines, so you can work those calves and build your stamina. If your paths are rocky or uneven, take along your walking poles to help you with the ups and downs. Just watch your ankles – a sprain can set you back four to six weeks!
