We all want the opportunity to live a full, happy life, and a balanced lifestyle can ensure that we enjoy more of today and more tomorrows with the ones we love. Flora has some tips on how you can live more life, everyday.
How to #LiveMoreLife
Eating a heart-healthy diet including a heart-healthy spread like Flora is one simple way you can start living a healthier, more balanced life. But there are other things you can do to find a healthier balance.
Get moving
Find ways to exercise while also having fun; that way it won’t seem like a chore. Try a Parkrun instead of running on a treadmill, take the stairs instead of the lift or start going to yoga or dance classes. Breaking out of your normal exercise routine may just give you an extra boost of energy!
“The key to a healthy life is a balance of everything… diet, regular exercise and minimal stress,” says Biokineticist and fitness guru, Letshego Zulu.
Manage the stress
It’s very important to find healthy coping strategies for stress. While exercise does help, you should also make time for that which really matters: friends and family.
Try starting a new hobby (or start doing an old one again), go on a day trip and get out of the city, or just relax in a bubble bath with a good magazine or book.
Sleep right
The effects of a lack of sleep are far more detrimental than you expect and can impact not only your stress levels, but it can also affect your alertness, mood and even cardiovascular health. A healthy amount of sleep is between 6 and 9 hours per night.
Eat for your heart
Did you know that 1 in 3 men and 1 in 4 women in SA are at risk of cardiovascular disease before the age of 60? This is why Flora is on a mission to make South Africa’s hearts healthier.
While some fats can be really detrimental to your health, essential fats, or mono and polyunsaturated fats, play an integral part in maintaining a healthy heart and are also important building blocks of cells.
Flora is made from nutrient-rich plant and seed oils, including sunflower, canola, and linseed, many of which are rich in Omega-3, which is naturally good for the heart.
The oils are extracted and purified after the seeds have been harvested, before being combined with other natural ingredients to create the delicious Flora taste you love.
Although Flora is a tasty spread, it can also be used as a heart-healthy substitute in your cooking to add a delicious flavour to your meals.
