We spoke to Zumba Educational Specialist and Expresso Morning Show regular Lucas Mthenjane about staying fit this winter.
Zumba combines music with dance and fitness elements to create a fun and easy way for you to get fit.
Lucas suggested 4 additions to your at-home exercises, in order to make them into a more effective workout for your whole body.
Try them and feel the difference:
1. Five minutes of movement with music is always good for you.
2. Incorporate a chair for squats, supported lunges and side leg lifts.
Try these anti-aging exercises to take the years off!
3. For added resistance, use canned foods for bicep curls, shoulder presses and calf raises. Do 2 sets of 10 reps each.
4. Incorporate yoga stretches into your workout.
De-stress with these three yoga posses.
