If we were to play a game of ‘lockdown bingo’, would you have a home workout checked off? Looking around on social media, various news sites and blogs on the internet, home workouts have become increasingly popular. It goes without saying that regardless of whether we are cooped up inside, the need to exercise always remains. The popular body coach, Joe Wicks has found his way into the living rooms of millions of people across the globe encouraging them to keep on exercising.
We love that with all of our newly found routines, Joe has managed to design workouts for us all. From the young ones needing ways to expend some pent up energy to the seniors in need of some moves to get their blood flowing.
Joe has over two million YouTube subscribers and with the amount of people needing to workout from home, we expect that number to steadily increase.
We’ve rounded up some of our favourite Joe Wicks at-home-workouts for you to try, too.

The 20-minute HIIT workout
HIIT workouts are fantastic for burning a lot of kilojoules in a short amount of time. They’re also shown to improve your metabolic rate which helps you lose weight.
Quick workouts for a stronger core
We all know how important our cores are. But it’s often one of the parts of our bodies that we neglect to strengthen. Who wants to be doing 100’s of crunches a day to see a difference? Joe has the answer to gaining a stronger core and achieving that in exercise routines of up to 10 minutes. Just add one of these ab workouts to the end of your HIIT workout and you’ll be on your way to a core as strong as a ballerina’s.
Workouts for kids
One part of missing out on school is that children miss out on their school sports, too. While children may not mind this, it’s important that they’re not sedentary during this lockdown period.
Pent up energy can be expelled by them doing one of Joe’s daily PE at-home workouts. Fun additions include a ‘spot the difference’ game in every video where kids are encouraged to try and find different items placed in the background.

Workouts for seniors
Who said at-home workouts are just for the young? While it may prove difficult to keep up the same pace as your younger counterparts, you can still move your body and keep it strong. Joe had this in mind when designing specialised workouts for seniors. These are workouts you can do while sitting on a chair, or even on the couch- and you don’t need any equipment. There’s no reason not to move your body.
