February: “The month of love.” That’s what everybody calls it.
Sophie at work is gushing (yet again) about how many roses she received on Valentine’s Day. It seems like there are more couples in February than any other time of the year – and they’re all in love!
So, what’s a single girl or guy to do? It’s all about love, right? But we’re choosing to love ourselves more this month. Oh yes, we said it! And this is how we’ll plan our own date:
Fancy a movie?
The great thing about going to the cinema by ourselves is that we get to choose exactly what we want to watch – without anyone complaining: “No! That’s too boring. I don’t want to watch Jason Mamoa flexing his muscles.” Well, we do! And if we’re in a soppy mood and want to watch a Rom-Com that has a sad ending, who’s going to judge us? Plus, we can cry if we want to.

A massage sounds good – thanks!
We love our bodies and we love taking good care of them. A massage is a total treat. Just imagine a day of unhurried pampering… All we need to do is sit back and relax. Make. The. Booking. Now! And if we indulge in a bit too much sparkling ‘juice’, that’s okay. We’ll just book a WeDrive driver to get us home safely in the comfort of our own car.
Go shopping
Let’s face it, shopping is everyone’s best friend – and a sure cure for sadness and boredom. How about heading to that vintage store that often has discounts? And we can stay for as long as we want – 30 seconds or 30 minutes – and not have to explain ourselves to whomever we kept waiting.
Netflix and chill
Binge is the new bling! Who wants to wait an entire week to watch another episode of Stranger Things when we can watch an entire season in a day? It’s possible. Just give us some of our favourite snacks, a great drink, some tissues (if needed), a comfortable seat and we’re good for the day.

It is as important to take care of ourselves and go on solo treats every now and then, as it is to take care of our possessions – like our cars, for instance.
