Just on time for the monthly grocery shop, Pick n Pay has opened the doors to their new flagship store in Cape Town’s Somerset West, boasting many new premium features which shoppers can expect to see at all premium Pick n Pay stores in the future.
This followed Pick n Pay’s announcement earlier this year that it would be splitting its portfolio between Qualisave stores for middle-market shoppers, and the new rebranded premium Pick n Pay flagship stores for affluent shoppers.
What can you expect at the new flagship?
The new revamped Pick n Pay in Somerset West boasts a coffee bar, fresh fruit and vegetables, new product displays and wider aisles to spoil us for choice on our next grocery run.
According to Business Tech, premium stores will now also be the home of the company’s new premium private label, Crafted Collection by PnP. Products and services for this collection are expected to launch in the months ahead.
Pick n Pay says that they’ve also done away with signage and opted for digital screens instead. Plus, there’s even an interactive device that will help you find the best wine to pair with your cheese! And, everybody’s favourite wellness stop, Faithful to Nature, will be stocking their products at selected stores as part of Pick n Pay’s Live Well health range.
According to Pick n Pay, they’re ramping up on the revamping programme. The company aims to have 130 Pick n Pay and QualiSave stores fully refurbished by February 2023.
Business Tech shares a few more of the premium newbie features:
- Seasonal fruit, veg and fresh produce including new or exclusive products
- The Free Fruit for Kids initiative offering kids a wholesome snack while their folks do the shopping
- A new flower and potted plant selection
- A cheese & deli bar boasting a wide range of local and international cheeses
- Cheese and wine pairing
- An artisanal bakery with an amazing selection of goods
- A chicken Rotisserie bar and a selection of ready meals for shoppers on the go.
- An in-store ‘steak shop’ with trained butchers at service
