A local police officer recently got a talking to by the viral internet sensation ‘ Tannie Gogo.’
With over 2.7 million views, “Tell him gogo tell him” caught the attention of many a saffer, as gogo’s isiXhosa flow got TikTok on her side, regardless of the matter’s context.

“Don’t judge a book by its cover” continues to hold its ground as a saying of deep truth, and this video is a testament to that.

“I’m taking her side —idc (I don’t care),” wrote one user.
“Whatever it is, I’m behind [you] Tannie Mariaan,” shared another.
“Make her our President,” said another.
“I vote we send her to Eskom. She can fix this!” voted one user.

Beyond Tannie Gogo’s newfound fanbase, the video inspired a lot of locals to get serious about broadening their language scopes.
Duolingo anyone? Well, Xhosa will reportedly be on its way to the language learning app in 2024, but until then, we might just need a petition for Tannie Gogo to start giving lessons.
